Is This A Dream? Yes, It's The Dream Handheld Vaporizer From KindPen

When looking for a vaporizer dedicated to concentrates, one needn't look much further than the incredibly efficient and easy-to-use Dream vaporizer by KindPen. The Dream is an excellent choice for both vape novices and pros alike, featuring a 1500 mAh Lithium Ion Battery, multiple temperature settings, and a discrete appearance.

At first glance, the Dream pen looks very sleek and professional. The glass mouthpiece and the metallic body give it a luxurious look and feel, and the body has a good weight to it that feels comfortable in my hand. The Dream is currently available in seven colors, some examples include Gunmetal Black, Pink&Gold and Silver. For the record, I got silver.

Included in the package are two different heating chambers, one being a dual quartz rod and the other being a ceramic donut, two mouthpieces, one set of extra rubber bands, a USB charger, a quick start guide and the item registration card.

Instead of buttons, the Dream utilizes a touch sensor at the bottom of the pen to fire up, change temperature settings, and locking the pen. To hit the pen, one need simply press and hold the sensor down and breathe in through the mouthpiece, and to lock it, just press the sensor five times rapidly. Although I've heard a couple complaints about the touch sensor, I have to say I really enjoy the addition. The lack of an actual button is one of the things that gives it its professional look, and it's also one less part that'll get dirty. While I do love the touch sensor, I found that on occasion that the sensor would not recognize my touch, or would stop recognizing my finger on the sensor, mainly because the sensor is actually pretty tiny, likely in order to still allow the lights to shine through the bottom of the pen. Although initially inconvenient, this really isn't a big issue, it just took some getting used to.

The Dream comes with three temperature settings that can be cycled through by pressing the touch sensor three times rapidly. The three temperatures have corresponding colors that light up the pen depending on the setting: Red (350° F), Yellow (390° F), and Green (430° F). In addition to the multiple temperature settings, directly underneath the coil is the airflow control, which you simply twist to allow as much or as little fresh air you want circulating into your hit. The multiple temperature controls and the airflow control are very straightforward and intuitive. Even as someone who isn't the most well-versed in vapes, I felt confident switching temperature controls and manipulating the level of airflow and temperature within the pen to experience different types of hits.

I initially started with the ceramic donut chamber after unboxing the pen, and loaded it with some crumble. I was very impressed with how large of rips I could get out of the pen, but after coming from cheap $20 USD wax pens that could only hit two or three times before needing to be reloaded, I accidentally ended up overpacking the pen. This combined with tilting the pen to the side during a few hits led to oil coming out the sides of the coil dripping onto the inside of the mouthpiece, fortunately, I registered my pen's warranty, so if the coil becomes unusable, it's not a big problem.

After switching to the dual quartz coil and decreasing the amount of concentrate I put into the heating chamber, I found that the Dream pen does an amazing job at squeezing the most out of my concentrates as possible, and lasts a lot longer than just a couple rips. The rips I get off the Dream with the dual quartz rod chamber are by far more flavorful and less harsh than the ones I get when dabbing off my nail. I was initially concerned that I wouldn't feel like my concentrates were being used wisely in the pen, that it would end up using too much of my concentrates, however now I think twice before using my shatter on my nail instead of the pen.

With the combination of three temperature settings and the intuitive airflow gauge, I was able to create the ideal conditions to squeeze the vapor out dependent on how much and what type of concentrate I was enjoying. I found that starting on the yellow setting with the air flow gauge being half-open made the ideal environment when the Dream was just warming up, after a few hits, I'd open up the air and turn it up to green clear the rest out before loading it again.

Despite my interaction with the ceramic donut's airflow getting partially blocked and dirty, I can't help but admire how clean the heating chamber itself is after each session. At the end of every session I attempt to clean out the remaining concentrate on the Green setting, and every time I put away the ceramic donut it's just as white as Day 1.

One of the most notable features of the Dream is the that it doesn't get too hot to touch, at least not as a fast as other vape-pens might. Even after a long session with the pen, I simply tap the sensor 10 times to lock the pen, and put it into my pocket. The pen is warm to the touch at the base of the coil, sure, however not nearly hot enough for me to worry about burning my skin.

If you're like me and aren't too well versed in the ways of handheld vaporizers, cleaning and maintaining a concentrate pen might seem a little daunting. Fortunately, the Dream is relatively easy to clean with some rubbing alcohol and q-tips. Although I was a little disappointed that I had to clean the ceramic donut and one mouthpiece after one evening of use, like I said before I now know it was mainly because I overpacked the heating chamber repeatedly. You do want to make sure you never put herb or e-liquid in the pen, and you never use other types of cleaning supplies or liquids to clean the pen.

On the product registration card for the Dream KindPen, it claims that it is "The only Vape you'll ever need." Based on the pen's superb performance and lifetime warranty, I can't help but agree.
